Jason Ligons Receives President’s Merit Award

Medford, Oregon - On October 30th, 2023 Paratransit Services held an awards ceremony to recognize Jason Ligons of Rouge Valley Transportation District as a recipient of the President’s Merit Award for 2022. The President’s Merit Award was established to acknowledge employees for outstanding performance and contributions from the different operational sites of Paratransit Services.

Jason was first hired as a driver in July of 2007, and has been an integral member of Paratransit Services since the day he started. He was promoted to Operations Supervisor / Driver Trainer in September of 201l and was promoted again in October of 2015 to his current position as General Manager. Jason is dedicated and hardworking. He is extremely organized and focused on continuously developing best practices to manage routine activities both efficiently and effectively. Jason continually brings a positive energy and a personal touch to the Medford office that his staff truly admire and appreciate.

Jason’s success and leadership record as a Paratransit Service General Manager has not gone unnoticed. Jason was recently honored at the Oregon Transit Association’s (OTA) annual transit conference where he received the honor of Outstanding Manager Award for 2023.

 Director of Safety, Training & Operations Bill Kluth had this to say about Jason:

 “Jason brings true professional attributes to Paratransit Services and genuinely cares about delivering excellent quality work. He strives to integrate both an understanding of the big picture, strategy, and goals, as well as attention to details. Many times over the last few years, I have approached Jason on a non-standard matter with only a vague idea in my mind of what we needed or wanted to do. Jason took the initiative to figure out what the area needed with minimal guidance from me, and then delivered on the task. Jason's management style is both fair and effective. He has gained the respect of staff and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make a difference in the lives of the people in the Rogue Valley community that we are entrusted to serve.”

The awards presentation was held onsite at our location in Medford, Oregon. Paratransit Services CEO/President David Baker presented the award, with Board Member Bryan McConaughy, COO/EVP Christie Scheffer, and Director of Safety, Training & Operations Bill Kluth all in attendance as well.
