Paratransit Services Honors Carol Milet with President’s Merit Award

Calaveras, California – On September 18th, 2025 Paratransit Services honored Carol Milet, from our operation in Calaveras, with the 2024 President’s Merit Award. The President’s Merit Award was established to acknowledge our staff for outstanding performances and contributions from the different operational sites of Paratransit Services.

Carol Milet joined Paratransit Services in November 2016, bringing with her an impressive 36 years of driving experience across paratransit, school bus, and charter services. Carol’s extensive background in transit operations is clearly reflected in her daily performance. She consistently arrives early for her shift, ensuring both she and her vehicle are fully prepared for the day ahead. Carol takes great pride in maintaining a clean and organized bus, often using any available layover time to tidy the vehicle. She even carries her own spray bottle to keep her windows spotless, demonstrating her commitment to providing a professional and comfortable environment for her passengers.

General Manager, Cynthia Lawrence, had this to say about Carol:

“Carol’s reliability is well known—one could set their watch by her punctual arrival each day. She maintains an outstanding attendance record, rarely missing a shift, and continually demonstrating her reliability and dedication. Recently, her morning route was extended to assist with high school student transportation. Recognizing the increase in traffic during her scheduled departure time, Carol proactively requested to leave the yard five minutes earlier to ensure she could safely reach her riders on time.

Carol is an excellent representative of our transit community. As a long-standing resident of Calaveras County, she knows many, if not all, of our riders personally. Carol is friendly, engaging, and highly respected by the community she serves. Her familiarity with the area and its residents often provides valuable insights into riders' concerns and needs, which have been instrumental in informing driver training and best practices for new employees.

Carol demonstrates a thorough understanding of transit operations, safety protocols, and service expectations, and often serves as a resource for both passengers and fellow drivers. While Carol values consistency and prefers her set schedule, she is always willing to step up when needed. She readily volunteers to cover additional shifts or assist her fellow drivers by switching shifts when necessary. Carol exemplifies professionalism through her dedication to on-time performance, vehicle cleanliness, and, above all, passenger safety. Her positive attitude, commitment to service, and deep connection to the community have been key contributors to her outstanding record of nine years of safe and dependable transportation.”

The awards ceremony was held at our Calaveras office, with President/CEO David Baker in attendance to present Carol with her award. Others in attendance included GM, Cynthia Lawrence, fellow employees and members of the corporate office who joined the celebration via ZOOM.

Paratransit Services is committed to making a difference each day in the lives of our employees and in the communities we proudly serve. It is an honor to recognize Carol Milet for exemplifying the heart of service and excellence Paratransit Services stands for!
