Paratransit Services Awards George Dempsey with President’s Merit Award

Red Bluff, California – On September 16th, 2025 Paratransit Services awarded George Dempsey, from our operation in Red Bluff, with the 2024 President’s Merit Award. The President’s Merit Award was established to acknowledge our staff for outstanding performances and contributions from the different operational sites of Paratransit Services.

George, who started as a part-time driver for TRAX in 2021, came to Paratransit Services with experience working with senior and disabled individuals. He made an immediate impact, driving for both the fixed route and the ParaTRAX dial-a-ride service. Right from the start, George demonstrated a high level of customer service and maintained an excellent rapport with the clients he serves. In 2023, when a full time position opened to operate as a driver for FNRC, driving patients who are disabled to various appointments and day activities, George was the clear choice for the job.

General Manager, Sharon Young, had this to say about George:

“With George’s experience in group homes and dealing with special needs patients, he instinctively knew how to handle these types of clients.  After observing him at a program where he picked up a small group, I could immediately tell just how much the clients loved him. Many of the FNRC staff have also made comments about how well he cares for the clients.  It takes a special person to interact with these clients as some are non-verbal, but they always smile and are very comfortable in the care of George.  George shows up early every day and often gets back to the office later in the afternoon.  When he converses with anyone in the office, he always has a smile on his face and even after a long day always speaks about his clients with great enthusiasm.  I could not ask for a better FNRC driver.”

The awards ceremony was held at the Red Bluff office, with President/CEO David Baker in attendance to present George with his award. Others in attendance included GM, Sharon Young, fellow employees and members of the corporate office who joined the celebration via ZOOM.
